Position: Linux Build Engineer
Requirements
- Strong working knowledge of Linux internals (Debian preferred) and core systems services
- Experience with Debian packages, apt/apt-get/aptitude, dpkg or similar package management system (RPM)
- Solid scripting abilities (Shell, Perl, Ruby, etc)
- Strong general security background: network/systems/physical security, authentication, and authorization.
- Experience with VMware or XEN based virtualization
- Excited to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment with the opportunity to innovate and impact new markets.
Highly desirable skills
- Experience creating hardware or virtual appliances
- Experience developing or administering web applications (RubyOnRails, J2EE, PHP, etc)
- MySQL administration experience (HA, failover, disaster recovery, performance optimization)
- Specific experience hardening an OS for distribution
- IP network experience: significant experience with switching/routing/firewalls
- Experience installing, configuring and using system monitoring tools (Naggios, Cacti, Hyperic)
- Previous start-up experience or exposure to short release cycles, XP, or agile methodologies
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
