Position: Linux Build Engineer

Requirements

• Strong working knowledge of Linux internals (Debian preferred) and core systems services
• Experience with Debian packages, apt/apt-get/aptitude, dpkg or similar package management system (RPM)
• Solid scripting abilities (Shell, Perl, Ruby, etc)
• Strong general security background: network/systems/physical security, authentication, and authorization.
• Experience with VMware or XEN based virtualization
• Excited to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment with the opportunity to innovate and impact new markets.

Highly desirable skills

• Experience creating hardware or virtual appliances
• Experience developing or administering web applications (RubyOnRails, J2EE, PHP, etc)
• MySQL administration experience (HA, failover, disaster recovery, performance optimization)
• Specific experience hardening an OS for distribution
• IP network experience: significant experience with switching/routing/firewalls
• Experience installing, configuring and using system monitoring tools (Naggios, Cacti, Hyperic)
• Previous start-up experience or exposure to short release cycles, XP, or agile methodologies
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
